Printing Guide

The Printing Galleries are optimized for printing and viewing on paper.  The are the same images that are in the InDepth gallery (though I would go there for the most information and details on the picture, as well as regional information and photos as well).

They are organized to fit nicely on either standard US paper or A4.  I would recommend an inkjet printer, or similar high-quality color printer.  Also, use higher quality glossy or semi-glossy paper if using an inkjet- normal paper will absorb too much ink and bleed, greatly reducing image quality.

Organization of the Cross-Eyed and Parallel Pages
Basic page layout of the InDepth feature The Cross-Eyed and Parallel viewing pages for printing are laid out identical, except for the left-right images being swapped.  The images are larger than what is shown in the browser window (i.e., they are shrunk for viewing).  While this increases download time, it makes for better printing, since the original resolution of the picture is printed, not what you see on the display.

Organization of the Anaglyph Pages
The Anaglyph pages are printed even larger, since you don't need to squeeze two photos side-by-side.  Simply print them out and view them wearing your red/blue anaglyph glasses, or simply view them on screen, without the DepthCharge plug-in required.  Like the other two printing galleries, these images are larger than they appear, so that they will print more nicely.

Since the anaglyph images can also be viewed on screen, I have provided links back to the original entry in the main gallery as well, where you can read the caption and see the rest of that country's or state's gallery as well.  This will pop up a new browser window.

All 3D images in this feature have a corresponding entry in the main galleries.  For more photos from that country, go to that gallery (the cross-eyed gallery).

I have provided as well the ability to print your own 3D anaglyph glasses, in case you don't happen to have any, and you have trouble with the other visual methods.  They will not be of the highest quality, and you will probably have to print two copies and sandwich them together to get enough color density to work, but they will give some effect if you have a decent ink jet printer.
