Tampere Park
Another interesting feature of Tampere, and of southern Finland in general, are the eskers left over from ancient glaciations.  The glaciers left piles of rocky debris either at their terminus (moraine) or along channels under the glacier (esker).  There are several of these around Tampere, and they afford great views.  This view of Pyhäjärvi (the southern lake) is from an esker in the area called Pyynikki.
