Mainz, Germany
Mainz was quite a surprise when we visited. We stopped here to spend the night after traveling down the Rhine from Köln, and found many amazing buildings. I had a chance to revisit Mainz in early 1999 while staying in Wiesbaden, just across the river and not too far from Frankfurt. I highly recommend a visit- stay here instead of Frankfurt or even Wiesbaden (not bad in itself). This church is called Christuskirche, and was about one block from my hotel. It is pretty ghostly in appearance at night, and yes, that is the moon again appearing behind it.
