Distant Rano Kau, Easter Island
Not too far from Ahu Tongariki on the east end of the island, you get this fantastic view of the west end of the island, and distant Rano Kau, the crater by the ceremonial village of Orongo. There is very good depth in this image (click to enlarge), and you can clearly see the rain in the foreground, between the hill and the crater, over the water. One thing that was interesting was that while I saw quite a bit of rain, it was very localized- micro climates abound. While it was muddy here, it was completely dry a kilometer away. The rain came in little pockets, and sun would follow. One side of the island was dark and gray, and you drive a little bit and you are in the sun.
