Ahu Vinapu, Easter Island
Ahu Vinapu is on the eastern side of Rano Kau.  It is significant because of the type of stone work- very meticulous masonry is evident here, and what is strange- it is older than most other sites, the reverse of what you would expect given the more advanced techniques used.  Whereas other ahu consist of stacked flat stones, these stones are cubed and fitted tightly together.
