Montezuma Castle National Monument, Arizona
This final parting shot is another one of my favorites here.  This cottonwood tree has a most interesting trunk- like camouflage.  The markings were stronger on the west side of the tree, which is what you are looking at here.  Don't know if it has anything to do with sunlight or not, but the cliffs would shade the trees from the mid-to-late afternoon sun.
