Grand Mesa
Grand Mesa is also in the far western part of Colorado- not too far from Colorado National Monument. It is, as it says, a grand mesa- a large tableland high above the surrounding plain. This was in early June, one of my favorite times in Colorado because the deciduous trees are just coming out, and their foliage is light green, in great contrast to the darker green pine trees. In the distance, you can see the drop-off of the mesa to the surrounding valley.
