Gateway Arch, St. Louis, Missouri
This was actually taken in Illinois, but it's in this gallery because the subject matter is mainly St. Louis.  I had difficulty in East St. Louis finding a good spot for a look back at the arch- it's industrial and there is nowhere to park and walk.  I did find this field next to an industrial complex from where I could fire off this quick shot.  It puts the Arch in a little more perspective than do my distorted shots from underneath do.  It really is very tall, as you can see by how it towers over the St. Louis skyline.  It is about 630 feet tall (over 200 meters) and was built in 1965 for the World's Fair.
