Yellowstone NP, Mammoth Hot Springs (New Blue Spring)
This is the view of New Blue Spring looking up from the base where the water drains.  Most of the white is either dry or too hot for anything to grow.  Most of the color in Yellowstone hot water formations comes from algae and bacterial mats that grow in the water in various temperature zones as you move away from the source.
