A View Like No Other As the late afternoon progressed and the clouds relocated themselves, the view changed. I've zoomed in a bit more for you here, and the structure of northern part of the city is clearer. The Empire State Building towers above the rest. |
| Glowing in the Autumn Sun I really like this shot, and I think the dancing of the clouds added to the sequence of pictures, because different buildings are in view in different pictures. I can spot at least three prominent buildings in this photo- the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and the Citibank building with it's strangely angled top (away from you) and large weight that floats on rollers to dampen out building motion. The other buildings look relatively small, but would still be monsters in nearly every other city in the world. |

The Famous Bridge Looking more eastward from the World Trade Center you can see the Brooklyn Bridge across the East River, and just to the left of it, the Manhattan Bridge. Beyond it lies the borough of Brooklyn, on the western tip of Long Island. |
| Lower Manhattan Looking more downwards again, you are looking at the tall buildings of lower Manhattan, and across the East River is more of Brooklyn. |

Straight Down And finally, looking westward but down, you can see the banks of the Hudson River, and Building 2 of the World Financial Center, to the right. Although not destroyed by the collapse of the towers, that building was severely damaged and will take a long time to repair. |
