San Antonio Riverwalk, Texas
I first came here when I was a kid in 1978, and we stayed on a far end of the walk, but traversed it back and forth tirelessly. Since then, it has probably expanded 50% in terms of restaurants and tourist attractions. More parts of the walk are accessible and safe. I've been back many times- 1984, 1989, 1997, 1998 and 2001. Most restaurants along the river rent sidewalk space from the city and set up tables there. This one is quite famous with all the colored umbrellas, and a variant of this is hanging on my wall at home (with a vertical framing).
