December 31-  I've changed out the Europe map for the new style photo montage.  I've also taken this opportunity to collapse the two German galleries into one gallery to simplify things a bit (they were both small).  Also updated the Australia/South Pacific map to the new montage style.

November 27
-  Started adding Africa merchandise to the Online Store.

October 8
-  Completed Tunisia.
Africa3d.net is now largely finished.  There are some loose ends to tie up- some editorial commentary, and some video and audio, which I've yet to process.  I will do that next, but photography-wise, the site is completed!
October 7-  Completed Libya.
October 6
-  Completed Chad.
October 5
-  Completed Sudan, Central African Republic galleries.  Chad is in preview mode.
October 4
-  Completed remaining Zimbabwe galleries, and added all Kenya galleries (not too many photos in Kenya).  Started putting up Sudan, which consists of previews right now, but there are not too many photos, and they will be stunning, and will be added very shortly.  The remaining galleries should go up rapidly, as they are all rather small.
October 3
-  Completed adding 3D's to the Victoria Falls gallery in Zimbabwe- 35 more 3D's are online!

I'm starting a new feature on the Africa3d.net site with live news feeds.  So far, it's only on the Zimbabwe page, but will expand quickly to the other main pages within the Africa sub-site, including the main African page as well.
October 1- Completed the  (2D) galleries with the addition of Columbiformes, Coraciiformes, Craciformes, Gruiformes, Passeriformes and Psittaciformes.  Zambia is now complete!  I will be adding some video at a later date, but all photos, which comprise a majority of the site, are finished!  I will now move on to Zimbabwe, which due to our spending just half a day there, will be a much smaller endeavor.  Added Zimbabwe 3D previews, and already added a gallery of  Scenics (2D), with 18 pictures.

September 30
- Added the framework for the large set of galleries Birds of Zambia (2D).  This are broken up into sub-galleries by sub-order to manage the large size.  So far, I've added Anseriformes, Bucerotiformes, and Ciconiiformes.
September 29
- Added two galleries of Artiodactyla in the Ungulates gallery- Artiodactyla 1 and Artiodactyla 2..  There are a large number of them, so it's alphabetical- Bushbuck to Hippos are in this first gallery.
September 28
- Started brining the gallery of Ungulates of Zambia (2D).  While similar to those we saw in Tanzania, there are some different ones here as well.  Due to the large number of Ungulates, I've broken it into three sub-galleries, the Perissodactyla, which in my case, consists of just Zebras, and which is in place, and the Probocsidea, or elephants, which is also finished.  Other ungulates are antelope, buffalo, etc...  Also, put up the splash screen for Zimbabwe- the gallery that will be coming next when I'm finished with Zambia (which will be soon).
September 27
- Competed the Victoria Falls Area gallery.  44 new 3D's are in place!  Also added 2D pictures and a description of our experience at my brother-in-laws Archaeological Dig Site in Zambia.
September 26
- Continued adding 3D's to the Victoria Falls Area gallery.  It is now 50% done, with 22 to go.
September 25
- Started adding 3D photos to the Victoria Falls Area gallery.  This is a giant gallery of 44 3D images, so I'm only 20% done so far.  Progress should be quick as I've gotten all the 3D's assembled already, so it's just a matter of wrapping HTML, JavaScript, and captions around them.
September 24
- Completed the 3D gallery Outside Luangwa, near South Luangwa National Park.  These include 3D's of our archaeological dig with my wife's brother.  Added an additional 2D gallery- Other Scenics- to cover miscellaneous scenic photos from our trip in Zambia (this includes many gorgeous sunsets).  Also added Outside Lusaka, another 3D gallery of our stay at Pioneer Camp.
September 23
- Started adding photos to the Outside Luangwa 3D gallery- about 25% done so far.
September 20
- Added the section for the Primates of Zambia (2D).
September 18
- Added the section for the Carnivores of Zambia (2D).  We didn't see many of them in Zambia, so this is a small section.
September 10
- Added Route Details (2D maps), including GPS tracks of all we saw in Zambia.  Also added a section detailing our experience with Zambian Airways, and the airports in Zambia in Travel by Air.
September 9
- Completed my review, with many pictures (2D), of the Lodges we stayed at while in Zambia.
September 8
- Completed Reptiles of Zambia (2D).
September 7
- Completed the 3D gallery of South Luangwa National Park.  All 3D's are now in place.
September 6
- Added previews for the 3D gallery of the Victoria Falls Area.  Also put up a section on the People of Zambia (2D).  It is incomplete, as I need input from the other photographer, but my thoughts and comments are up there.  Also, partially completed the 3D gallery of South Luangwa National Park- about 1/3 done so far.
September 5
- Completed the gallery for Animals in 3D in Zambia.
September 2
- Added previews for the 3D gallery of the Area Outside South Luangwa in Zambia.
September 1
- Added previews for the 3D gallery of South Luangwa National Park, as well as the area Outside Lusaka in Zambia.

August 31
- The basic framework for Zambia is in place.  I've also added previews for Animals in 3D in Zambia.
August 27
- I've completed the  Birds (2D) of Tanzania- with the addition of Columbiformes, Phoenicopteriformes (Flamingoes), Psittaciformes, and Struthioniformes.  With that, Tanzania is largely done!  I will of course be adding video clips of animals and perhaps some audio, and most likely some more scenics in 2D in the near future, but it's time to move on to Zambia!  Stay tuned!

I've also put a link on the front page to the 3D Film Expo II, which is being held in Los Angeles Sept 8-17, 2006.  They are showing 39 full-featured movies and 17 shorts, all in polarized mode (no Anaglyph!).  This will be a high-quality 3D movie event at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.  This is not a paid announcement, because I fully support this effort to preserve old 3D movies- I'm talking actual preservation here, not just showing a few 3D films.  They are being preserved and restored by the 3-D Film Preservation Fund- a non-profit organization.  If you can go, or are in the region and enjoy 3D- the good kind with polarized glasses and no headaches- go see all or part of this festival.  Go to the 3D Film Expo II site and order your tickets!

August 26- I've finished another sub-gallery of the Birds (2D) of Tanzania- the Passeriformes. This includes weavers and starlings, among others.
August 24
- So far, I've finished two sub-galleries of the Birds (2D) of Tanzania- the Ciconiiformes, the Coraciiformes, the Galliformes, and the Gruiformes.
August 23
- Started putting up perhaps the most difficult gallery- Birds (2D) of Tanzania.  There are so many varieties, it can be hard to identify them.  I have and am doing my best to accurately identify the ones I photographed.
August 22
- Completed adding the the Proboscidea & Hyracoidea (2D) gallery, which includes elephants and hyraxes.  This completes the Ungulates (2D) gallery, with 15 species of ungulates presented.
August 20
- Completed adding the Ungulates (2D) gallery.  Thirteen species of ungulates are added in four sub-galleries, split up to make the pages more web-friendly (there are so many pictures to show).  I've also finished the Proboscidea (2D) gallery- which are elephants.
August 17
- Started adding photos to the Ungulates (2D) gallery.  This includes the vast majority of animals we saw, and is likewise very large.  As a result, I've broken it into the orders that exists within the ungulates- and so far, I've got the Perissodactyla- odd-toed ungulates.  I've also added details of the Flights we took in Tanzania and Kenya and a review of the airlines.
August 15
- Added a review of our Safari provider- East African Safaris.
August 14
- Completed the gallery Northern Tanzania in 3D.  These are the remaining 3D shots in Tanzania that do not fit into the other galleries.  I've also added very detailed maps of Northern Tanzania in a section called Route Details.  These maps are from Google Earth and have overlays of GPS data showing exactly where we were, and I've added additional details to help tie together with the galleries.
August 13
- Completed the gallery Ngorongoro Crater Area in 3D.  These contain 3 different 3D viewing formats, so you have more viewing choices depending on your preference!  Also added a gallery of the Carnivores (2D) we saw in Tanzania.  There are some really great shots in this gallery!
August 12
- Started adding images to the Ngorongoro Crater Area in 3D.  About 70% done so far.
August 10
- Added the Primates (2D) gallery to Tanzania.  This contains 2D photos of various monkeys and baboons we saw while we were there.
August 9
- Serengeti in 3D is completed- 30 new 3D's!
August 8
- Started adding Serengeti in 3D in Tanzania, as well as the gallery of Reptiles (2D) that we saw there.
August 7
- Added Trip Details of the African trip as well as many photos and details of the Lodges we stayed at in Tanzania.  These were some pretty scenic places.
August 6
- The Animals in 3D gallery is complete, with multiple formats available (cross-eyed, parallel, and anaglyph (red/blue)).  Enjoy!
August 5
- Added a few Animals in 3D in Africa.  I'm trying something new- multi-format images not using the JPS Stereo Applet I've used elsewhere on the site.  This is due to Microsoft's total screw-up with Java.  Please give me some feedback on how this works for you in the Animals gallery.
August 2
- Added 3D previews for the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and other Northern Tanzanian sites.  Also, I added a section on the People of Tanzania- not in 3D, just a 2D human-interest gallery.  This differs from other content on my site in that I express much more personal opinions than usual, which will be the norm in the Africa3d.net set of galleries.
August 1
- Started adding the gallery framework for Africa3d.net, my new subdomain (which is not working just yet- you can visit from the main site or go to Africa).  So far, just Tanzania has been partly finished.  Due to the large amount of photos taken, plus video and a lot of animals (most of which are in 2D), I am expanding the scope of this site to go beyond 3D, while keeping that aspect front and center.  There will be many, many 3D scenics, and 3D animals where I was able to get them (they move a lot, pesky little things :), as well as links to other resources, personal feelings, and even video and sounds.  Stay tuned to this major new addition to the site!

July 27
- Made major overhaul to front page- using the new Montage style I experimented with last month in the US galleries.  I waited until now so I could incorporate pictures from my just-completed honeymoon in Africa for the front page montage.  Pictures from Africa will be forthcoming, but with 2700 of them to sort through, it's going to take some time.  In the Space gallery, I added a 3D of Planet Earth taken from the Mercury Messenger spacecraft during a flyby of Earth in 2005.
July 4
- Made update to Dallas/Fort Worth in 3D sub-site to include a great new photo I took of Dallas (under Dallas Skyscrapers 1)
July 2
- Added half a dozen new photos in Oklahoma in the Southern US gallery.  These are photos taken on Talimena Drive.  This should, for now, wrap up the updates to the US.  Stay tuned for some new updates later in July, from an all-new area!
July 1
- Added new previews to the Southern US gallery that are in Oklahoma.  We drove over the very scenic Talimena Drive.

June 30
- Completed the Eureka Springs gallery in Arkansas.  The makeover of the Arkansas gallery is done, and there are now 56 new 3D's for Arkansas, for a total of 72.
June 29
- Added more photos to the Eureka Springs gallery.  About 2/3 done now.
June 28
- Started adding photos to the Eureka Springs gallery in far northwest Arkansas.  About 1/3 done so far.
June 26
- Completed the Other Arkansas gallery, which is a catch-all gallery of Arkansas- non-Hot Springs or Eureka Springs.  About 1/3 of these are from the old Missouri/Arkansas gallery, the rest are new this year.
June 25
- Complete the Hot Springs, Arkansas gallery, with scenic shots and details of the bathhouses and a glimpse into perceptions of health from a century ago.
June 24
- Broke Missouri and Arkansas apart to make way for many scenic photos of Arkansas.  Also, I separated Arkansas into 3 galleries to include subsections on Hot Springs and Eureka Springs.
June 22
- Added 6 new 3D's to the Northeast US gallery, from the New York City area.  Two of them are beautiful sunset shots from Central Park.  Some of these 3D's are unusual compared to most of my work.
June 21
- Completed the Wineries gallery, as well as the Getty Museum gallery in Los Angeles.  All the California updates are done, and a total of 94 new 3D's have been added, plus a few 2D's for extra credit.  Also put up some previews in the Northeast US gallery from New York City, specifically, sunset views in Central Park, plus a few others.
June 20
- Completed the 3D Alcatraz gallery.  Started putting up the Wineries gallery, which so far only has two vineyards in Sonoma County in it.  On subsequent trips this gallery will be expanded.  About 1/3 done so far.
June 19
- Started putting up the Alcatraz gallery in San Francisco.  About 1/3 done so far.  Also I've updated the Canada navigation page to match the new style.
June 18
- Completed the Muir Woods National Monument 3D gallery in the California subsection, along with the Golden Gate Bridge 3D gallery and San Francisco 3D gallery- which focuses on the City of San Francisco itself.  I've also updated the Texas and Arizona navigation pages as well, to fit with the new photo montage style I'm deploying throughout the site.
June 17
- Added 3 new shots to Southern California in the Santa Barbara area and 3 new shots to Northern California north of San Francisco.  I decided to make a new look for future geographic navigation pages, starting with the California gallery.  Instead of a plain map with links, I created a photo montage of the best shots for a backdrop to a translucent map, making for a much more attractive, and fitting, entry page.  I've also adopted this for the United States map- it's now made up of a representative composite of some of the best pictures I have of the US.  I'll be migrating this design throughout the site over the next few months at the map-level.  I won't for now change the design of the galleries themselves (way too much work).
June 14
- Added another preview gallery of the Wineries area north of San Francisco.
June 13
- Added previews to a new San Francisco gallery.  As well, added previews in totally new galleries for Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Golden Gate Bridge, and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
June 12
- Reworked the US galleries map to break out California into it's own subset of galleries, similar to the Texas and Arizona galleries.  This will accommodate many more pictures in more manageable galleries.  New galleries to come:  San Francisco, Muir Woods, Golden Gate Bridge, and the Getty Museum.  In addition to these will be additional new pictures in the Northern and Southern California galleries, including Wine Country and Santa Barbara.  These are from three trips made in 2004 and 2005.
June 11
- Completed a new gallery of Aerial Sydney, mostly taken from the Sky Tower.  There are also a couple of shots from my 1999 helicopter tour of the city.  Completed main Sydney gallery- carved out of the old New South Wales gallery and greatly added to from our 2005 trip.  I've also added another time-lapse video in this gallery, this time of the milling crowds at Circular Quay.  All the 3D's from our 2005 South Pacific vacation that included Fiji, New Zealand and Australia are now in place.
June 10
- Completed a new gallery of our Sydney Harbour Cruise.  All 3D's were taken from a boat and it also includes two time-lapse video segments- one of our passage through a bridge that had to open up for us, and the other of our approach to the Sydney Opera House (a spectacular approach!).
June 9
- Completed the update of the New South Wales gallery in Australia new images from the Blue Mountains.  Since there were already pictures from there from my 1999 trip, I have ripped the old gallery apart and added the new photos into it.  The same goes for the photos of Sydney that were previously in this gallery- there will be three different Sydney galleries as well, hopefully soon.  One extra I threw into this new gallery is another time lapse video- this one is a 12x speed-up of a gondola ride in the Blue Mountains.
June 8
- Completed the South Island gallery  of New Zealand.  There are 32 more 3D's in place, and 7 gigantic panoramas (I've tried to tread the line between giving you as much detail as possible, yet sparing you long download times).  All New Zealand galleries are now in place!  New South Wales will be next.
June 5
- Added a few more pictures to the  gallery.  About 70% done.
June 4
- Completed the West Coast gallery in New Zealand- 33 new New Zealand 3D's are in place!  Started putting up 3D photos in the South Island gallery of New Zealand.  This gallery contains the remaining 3D's from New Zealand, spread across the South Island, including Queenstown.  This gallery is about 60% done.
June 3
- Continued putting up images in the West Coast gallery.  About half done now.
June 2
- Started putting up 3D photos in the West Coast gallery on the South Island of New Zealand.  Just over 1/3 is in place so far.
June 1
- Few minor changes on the site, nothing noteworthy, except:

Added RSS feed capability, for those of you who use that feature!  You can paste this URL into your feed reader:  http://www.3dphoto.net/3dphoto.rss  I will provide more info in the near future.  You can also get the URL from the button on the front page. If you are using Firefox, you can add it to your Live Bookmarks by clicking on the button in your URL bar at the top.  There is also a feed for the Forum section of the site:  http://www.3dphoto.net/forum/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss that will alert you when new posts have been made to the Forum.

May 23
- Completed the Christchurch gallery in New Zealand.
May 22
- Added more shots to the Christchurch gallery- about 75% done with this one.  Also, included now is a video clip from some time lapse video I shot in Christchurch.  Still looking for optimum way to present video content- I'd like to put some other time lapse videos on the site as well.  Let me know if you have any problems (it is at the Bridge of Remembrance photo).
I have added Search capability to the website.  For now, it is on the main page only, but it will be added to the main pages throughout the site.  Perhaps the crude results page isn't as friendly as Google's results page, but at least you now have the ability to go straight to material within the site, if you wish.
May 14- Added a few more shots to the Christchurch gallery.
May 12
- Started adding 3D images to the Christchurch gallery on the Southern island of New Zealand.  Only 4 images so far, but it's a start.  Should be adding the others in that gallery over the next few days.

Apr 20- Major behind the scenes updates have been happening to to the site- I have moved to a new server (many thanks to my previous host, Royce, for hosting this site for 8 years!).  I am now hosted on LunarPages.  You will notice faster downloads of the images as a result.
Also, I have now added 3dphoto Forums, an all new area of the site.  Here you can read announcements about the site, post questions, post your own 3D photos, ask for member feedback, discuss equipment, 3D techniques, etc...  It's a whole new dimension to the site!  And, for the first 10 people to sign up and meet some minimum requirements, I will ship a free 3D picture set from my online store.

Mar 18- The North Island gallery in New Zealand is now complete.  These are the remaining photos that are not in Auckland or in Rotorua and surrounding area, and includes perhaps the most surreal photo I have ever taken.
Mar 17
- The Rotorua Area gallery in the Central North Island of New Zealand is now complete.
Mar 7
- The Auckland, New Zealand gallery is now complete.
Mar 5
- Added 3D images of the island of Viti Levu, the main island of Fiji, and added additional photos to the original Fiji gallery, which consisted only of photos on Beachcomber Island, so now my 1999 trip photos are updated with additional 2005 photos.  In addition, I've added a gallery from Fiji from a day trip cruise we took to some Outer Islands.  Also cleaned up the Links page to other websites, and added a few fresh ones to it.

Feb 27
- Added many new previews of Sydney and the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.  Due to the number of new pictures, the old NSW gallery has been chopped into four galleries- Sydney, Aerial Sydney, Sydney Harbour, and New South Wales.  Some of the old pictures remain in the new galleries, mixed in with many, many new ones.  For now, most shots are previews, but for the older ones that had content already available, I've kept them available, even though the newer content is not yet in place.
Feb 20
- Added previews for the rest of the South Island of New Zealand.  Note:  This gallery contains 7 2D panoramas as well.  The South Island is so beautiful, that panoramas are really the best way to show it, even if only in 2D!
Feb 19
- Added previews in the Christchurch Area and the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
Feb 18
- Added previews in the Rotorua area and general North Island of New Zealand.  Also added a link to a children's educational coloring book about Easter Island in the store.  This is not a product of my website, but a worthwhile item by Susan Pfeil in her upstart Professor Kiwi educational series.
Feb 6
- Started updating the look and feel of the online store to be more intuitive and friendly.  Also added a few products.

Jan 29
- Added previews of Auckland, New Zealand.
Jan 22
- Added new previews from our 2005 trip to the South Pacific.  First previews are additions to Fiji, including the Main Island, Beachcombers (where I stayed in 1999 also), and a Fiji Island Cruise.  Will also be adding New Zealand, new Sydney and Blue Mountains in New South Wales in the near future.
