Aerial Sydney, Australia direction of view
I believe the exoskeleton on the building in the center is meant to evoke an image of a sailboat on the adjacent Sydney Harbour.  It's attractive and looks great from the ground, lending some variety to the dense skyline.  That's the Royal Botanical Gardens to the right, and just a hint of the Opera House in the upper left.
