Harbour Bridge, Sydney, Australia direction of view
Further around you get a good view of the Harbour Bridge, built in the 1930's, connecting Sydney with North Sydney across the harbor.  You also get a good view of the plains as they stretch off towards the center.  The Blue Mountains are about an hour west of Sydney are are visible on a clear day, but they are directly west.  They apparently flatten out to the north.
