Beachcomber Island, Fiji
A bit closer view of the island as our boat set anchor and we prepared to take a smaller "shuttle craft" to the beach shows more detail of the island.  The main structure is the Sand Bar.  It serves multiple purposes of restaurant and the night's entertainment.  Also visible are the kitchen to the right and the scuba shack to the left.  The water was quite turquoise in color and the temperature around 30°C (86°F).  The basic accommodations on the tiny island are thus:  One dormitory with about 40 beds, 8 lodge rooms with private showers and two twin beds, and about a dozen bures, or thatched roof huts around the perimeter of the island, each secluded from everything else.  I stayed in a lodge.
