Bora Bora, Aqua Safari
This is one my first ever underwater 3D photos (the Maitai shot later in this gallery was actually the first one)! We were walking on the bottom of the ocean here, maybe 20' (6m) down. We had large, heavy helmets on with air being pumped from the surface- usually. I say "usually" because they turned my air off and it got a bit warm and panicky, mainly due to increased CO2. I was about ready to ditch the helmet when the air sputtered back on. Luckily, the allotted time was almost up, so I surface with nausea and a headache. But, it was fun, and I got some cool pictures, including this one of brain coral, as it's called. In hindsight, Aqua Safari could probably do better by providing a bit more training and a warning that they might change out the air tanks while you are underwater (they do not use compressors), and do it more quickly than they did mine (or pay attention if it runs out). A tainted experience, but still fun- just be aware if you do, as you are only 20' down, so it's not too dangerous if you bolt to the surface.
