Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, Nadi, Fiji
I visited Fiji in 1999- and many photos in the Beachcomber
gallery are from that trip. On this trip I managed to get many 3D photos
from the main island of Fiji- Viti Levu. When you land from the US and
travel to one of the islands off shore, you generally have a 3-4 hour wait from
when the plane arrives until the boat leaves for the islands. We used that
time and hired a taxi for about $25 or so and had him take us around town a bit,
visit this temple, and visit a gift shop.
This Hindu shrine is reportedly the largest Hindu temple in the Southern
Hemisphere. Eight craftsmen were brought from India to design the three
parts, and follows the traditional Dravidian architecture. Apparently,
this type of architecture is rarely seen outside India.
