Cape Egmont, New Zealand
This is supposed to be my prize shot- the shot I was going to put on my living room wall.  Instead, all you see is clouds, cloaking the mountain like a giant pile of spilled shaving cream.  There is a mountain under there- a very beautiful mountain called Mt. Taranaki.  Problem is- coastlines and mountains don't always mix well.  The moisture-laden air blows in from the sea and as it ascends the side of the mountain, it condenses into clouds.

Mt. Taranaki closely resemble Japan's famed Mt. Fuji, so much so that the movie The Last Samurai was filmed here instead of Japan (likely for easy of access and that the costs in New Zealand are significantly lower than in Japan).

Since the weather was not cooperating, I always say that if you can't find beauty in the distance, find it close to you- as in the beautiful bottlebrush flowers that were decorating the roadside on our drive.
