Cataract Gorge, Launceston, Tasmania
Cataract Gorge is the jewel of Launceston, the largest
city in northern Tasmania, and where I spent the night. I stayed
in the Penny Royal Village- only for the room, though. Penny Royal
is a yesteryear theme park that is way too touristy, but they do
have really nice rooms that are quite old world (the building is in fact
well over 100 years old). Just up from there is the gorge, replete
with a mini-suspension bridge and chair lift (yes, this too is touristy,
but is worth the visit).
