Hokitika, New Zealand
Hokitika is about halfway up the coast between Franz Josef and Paparoa National Park, where we were heading next. Our friends, Allen & Janice, who had been staying in Christchurch for several weeks before we got there, had already taken a train here and stayed for a few days. It's a pleasant coastal town with many touristy things to do and some good restaurants. We didn't stay long, as we had a long drive ahead of us, and our friends had already spent a weekend here.
