Franz Josef Glacier, Westland NP, New Zealand
Now we're at the foot of the glacier.  The temperature has dropped and there is a cool breeze coming off the glacier, as the mountain air is cooled by the ice and falls downward into the valley.  You can see a slight bluish tint- water's natural color- in the middle, but most of the glacier is very dirty on the surface, from tearing up the mountain on the way down.
