Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada

Banff National Park, in Alberta, is part of a cluster of four national parks (Jasper, Kootenay, and Yoho) and a provincial park (Mt. Robson) that are all contiguous, and make up a truly awesome park system- one of the best there is.  Banff is located barely an hour west of Calgary (a nice place to visit in it's own right).

Never having been to these parks, you can imagine how elated I felt as this was my first views of the park- barely in the park limits at all.  I also happened to time it right- about mid-September- to hit the fall colors at their maximum brilliance. James,  a friend of mine, lives in Calgary (where his company, 3ge, the host of this site, is located).

For more photos of this park, click on the button below for a gallery.  James, you should recognize a few of these...

Calgary and Banff.  The highlighted section (in red) shows the location in Banff (purple outline) for the enlargement to the right.
