Parliament and City Hall, Vienna, Austria
Wien, in German, or Vienna in English, is a
classic city to visit. It has a lot to see in a small area inside
the ring (see map below). The pedestrian zone in the very middle
offers a lot, and there are plenty of great museums and churches within
walking distance of that. Vienna is also a major shopping city, but
you better be prepared to let much of your money go to enjoy it.
The building in the photo above on the left is the Austrian Parliament,
and the more ornate building on the right is the Rathaus, or City Hall.
Vienna is very well lit at night, so take a tripod to get those shots.
While visiting Vienna, and specifically the Museum or Art, or Kunsthistorisches
Museum, my friend Dan and I saw Kurt Waldheim- at that time he was rather
controversial, having just recently stepped down as Austria's president
over questions of his involvement with the Nazi's in WW2.
