Arc de Triomphe
There are no cities like Paris. The Arc
de Triomphe, built to celebrate various victorious French armies, was commissioned
by Napoleon in 1806, but was not completed until 1836, after Napoleon's
death. The arch is 50m high, and you can go up inside to a museum
near the top, and onto the top for a spectacular view of the twelve avenues
that converge on it, and of the various sights around Paris.
