Notre Dame, Paris, France
While not the biggest cathedral in Europe, Notre Dame is certainly impressive, if not a bit haunting at night.  When I took this shot, I hadn't even noticed the ghostly figures dancing down the roof line in the middle of the picture.  This was taken from the opposite side of the Seine than the cathedral.

Begun in 1163 by Louis IX, the church took 150 years to complete.  This view from the south shows the dimly lit towers to the left, the rose window, and the flying buttresses so common in the gothic architecture.

This is a really good 3D picture- the different parts really stand out when viewed in 3D.  For more photos and close-ups on the church, click the button below.

Paris.  The highlighted section shows where in the city the Notre Dame is located.
Close up- Notre Dame Area.  The purple spot is the spot across the river from where I took the time-exposed shot.
