Place de la Concorde
The obelisk at the Place de la Concorde was a gift from
the Egyptian Viceroy, Mehmed Ali, in 1833. It is 22m high, and weighs
220 tons, coming from Luxor. The statue in the foreground, and the
Eiffel Tower in the distance, complete the picture with a nice stair-stepping
effect.
