Versailles
The Palace of Versailles is one of the interesting, huge palaces in Europe.  Royalty lived here in opulent luxury, and it is still maintained today as a major tourist attraction.  The grounds are meticulously maintained and there are many flower gardens.  It is just southwest of Paris and was also where the Treaty of Versailles was signed (of course).
