Prague, Czech Republic
Prague is another one of those gem cities in Europe.  And, darn cold in January.  I was in Prague on January 1, 1993, the day Czechoslovakia split into two nations.  One local Prague fellow named Tomas who spoke very good English summed up a popular Czech opinion- "They are stupid!"  Czech did not want the Slovaks to secede, but in the end, let them go peacefully.  The temperature on this day was -4°F, or -20C.  This is a vew as I was climbing the tower in Staromestská radnice (old city hall), looking back at Karluv most (Charles Bridge).  The church visible between the towers is St. Nikolaus Church (there's more that one), and the church peeking over the rooftop on the right is the famous katedrala svatého Víta (or, St. Vitus Cathedral).
