Holckenhavn Slot, Fyn, Denmark

As I was preparing to leave the island of Fyn to return to Copenhagen, I passed this true gem of a castle just short of Nyborg. Built in 1634, it is a private residence and the inner courtyard is off-limits. But, as opposed to Tranekær Slot, you are free to park (for free) across the road and roam the grounds for free. Just leave the family to their privacy and leave no trace of your being there. Not too much to ask for free. I call this the "Holckenhavn Model of Civility". OK, I just made that up. But, my hat's off to the owners, whoever they may be- a hearty "Thank You" for allowing me to roam about quietly and take some photos.
