Senate Square
Smack in the middle of Senate Square is this statue of the Russian Czar Alexander II.  Alexander was one of the better Czars, and under his rule, he instituted recognition of Finnish as the official language of Finland, and implemented a separate monetary system.  These were the early roots of nationalism that ultimately led Finland to ask for independence from Russia during the Bolshevik revolution.
