Suomenlinna, Helsinki
The Suomenlinna (Fortress of Finland) is on the UN's World Heritage List.  It is on a collection of five islands just off the coast of Helsinki.  Started in the mid-1700's by the Swedes, and funded at least partially by France, it was meant to check the expansion of Russia in the Baltics.
