Caernarfon Castle is on the south side of the Menai Straits, near the Island of Anglesey.  It was built by Edward I in the late 13th and early 14th centuries and withstood many seiges.  It is still well-preserved, and served as the site of Prince Charles's investiture as Prince of Wales in 1969.
