Czerwińsk on the Vistula, Poland
I was in Poland for a very brief time in 1993- about 10 minutes at a
border crossing. So I looked forward very much for a chance to return and
see the country more properly, even if only for a 3-day weekend. I had
that chance in 2002, while spending one week in London and another in Finland,
and having an intervening weekend with which to do something. We (me with
two coworkers) decided to give Warsaw and its surrounding environs a chance.
Warsaw is a separate gallery, but this was our first foray into the countryside.
And it was beautiful, even if a bit rainy. Our first stop was the little town
of Czerwińsk, on the Vistula River. We had
some information saying that there was an interesting church here. That is
putting it mildly, as you will see in the next few pictures. Just inside
the wall were these two crosses.
