Hotel Bristol, Warsaw, Poland
This is a famous hotel in Warsaw, and I got to stay there, as their weekend rates were not so bad, and I was on a business trip extending over several weeks anyways.  It is listed as five star, and I would say it's close to that rating.  My "cheap" room was lavish.  In the lobby, there is a Who's Who list of notable guests, ranging from Henry Kissinger, Richard Nixon, Yes and the Rolling Stones.  I enquired at the desk if there was any way to find out who had stayed in my room, and the clerk's reply was, "Sir, I don't think anybody famous has stayed in room 615."  The next sound was a "pop" as my ego deflated.  It was a combination of the idea that my luxurious room was not good enough and the slight tone of voice in the clerk (who I am sure meant nothing by it).  Funny anyways!
