Ouro Prêto, Brazil
This lovely little town is about a two hour bus ride south of Belo Horizonte. It is tucked in the mountains and is an old mining town built on steep hillsides, with cobblestone streets and more than a dozen colonial churches. You will get a good workout seeing this town- but you can treat yourself to the wonderful food in some great restaurants. The church in this picture is Igreja de São Francisco de Assis, or the Church of St. Francis of Assisi. The odd-shaped peak in the background is Itacolomy.
