Viña del Mar, Chile
Viña del Mar was a bit too much like Miami Beach for me- at least this part was.  If you go, I recommend you stay near the Plaza de Armas.  If you want an interesting stay, I recommend the Hotel O'Higgins (the Irish/Spanish first governor whose name is memorialized everywhere).  It's an old hotel that still has manually operated elevators, yet exudes some strange form of charm.
