Orongo, Easter Island
On the south side of Rano Kau is the ceremonial village of Orongo- the location of the Birdman Cult
(more about that on a later photo)
. These round houses were covered with earth and had a door about 2 feet high that you had to crawl through to get inside (and they are now off-limits for tourists).
