Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica
We hiked through the very edge of the rainforest, able to see both the see and spot some howler monkeys in the canopy as well.  Sort of a best of both worlds.  These were a beautiful set of typical bromeliads epiphytically clinging to its host (meaning it uses it for mechanical support, but it is not a parasite).
