Vulcan Arenal Area, Costa Rica
A vast majority of the time we were here, the volcano looked just like this- cloud capped. Frustrating in a sense, but we could hear the thing erupt quite often- 8 times we counted in the 2 days we were here, and those were only the ones counted while awake or not in town further away. There were probably all total about twice as many events. It took a long nighttime exposure to capture the whole mountain- visible at the bottom of this gallery.
