Teotihuacan, Mexico
This is the Pyramid of the Moon as seen from the top
of the Pyramid of the Sun. All over the complex, and especially visible
from high vistas, there are unearthed mounds that are part of the ruins.
Most of these ruins vegetated over when they were abandoned, and had to be
carefully cleared and restored.
