Earth from Messenger
This beautiful shot of Earth was taken on a flyby of
the Mercury Messenger spacecraft. It was launched in 2004, and is taking a
slow route so it can perform an orbital insertion around Mercury in 2011.
It flew by Earth in 2005, and will make two flyby's of Venus before making three
flyby's of Mercury in 2008 and 2009, after which it will finally insert itself
