Firenze Duomo Campanile
Immediately next to the church is the bell tower, or Campanile.  It is 404 steps up (I counted them along with every breath), but the views are well worth it, both of the church and of the surrounding Florence.  It was raining when I made the climb, but that was OK- the wet red tiled roofs made for a better picture, I think.
