San Marco Basilica
The inside will take your breath away, and you will strain your neck looking up and about.  Gold leaf is everywhere, and though many other colors are present, it is the gold that dominates.  Also, St. Mark's remains are buried here, smuggled from Muslim control in the 8th century, buried under a shipment of pork.  This was not Mark the Apostle, but Mark the Bishop of Alexandria.
