Kitt Peak National Observatory, Arizona
The view from above... this is the Bok Reflector (named for Bart Bok, who oversaw the University of Arizona observatories from 1966-1969) from the viewing deck of the Mayall 4m Telescope.  The viewing deck goes all the way around and you can view the surrounding desert in all directions, and you get great views of observatory complex as well.
