Kitt Peak National Observatory, Arizona
This is the view of the complex from the Mayall 4m Telescope.  The dome at the top left is the 2.1m that were shown in close-up earlier in this gallery, and the McMath-Pierce Solar Telescope is off the left side of the picture.  The slight orange discoloration in the pictures is due to the bright sun shining on an orange shirt I was wearing and then reflecting off the glass that encloses the viewing deck.  It was unfortunate that while up here, I was unable to see the 4m telescope itself.  All the lights were off inside, and they were doing some calibration.  Needless to say that use of my flash certainly would not have engendered good will with the staff.
