Sunset Point Scenic View, Arizona
A short drive north of Phoenix, just north of Black Canyon City, there is this scenic turnoff.  You are on the south end of the Black Mesa, a  highland that affords nice views of the surrounding landscape.  This is on the road to Flagstaff, and several sets of Indian ruins to the north.  It is perhaps a half hour drive before you go back down to the valley floor to the north.
