Basin Park, Eureka Springs, Arkansas
We visited both Hot Springs and Eureka Springs, and we quite preferred Eureka Springs.  Both are old and a bit touristy, but Eureka Springs maintains much of its old charm, whereas Hot Springs is a bit more run down and distracted by racing, etc... (not that there's anything wrong with that, but it competes with the historic element).

Eureka Springs springs were cold water springs, but their mineral content was considered healthy, so a health-oriented industry grew up around it.  Basin Spring Bathhouse is shown above, where they would heat the mineral-laden water to give you the same effect as Hot Springs.  The photo was taken from the Basin Park Hotel.
