Buckstaff Bathhouse, Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas
Hot Springs was, and still is to some extent, known for it's bathhouses.  Buckstaff Bathhouse has been in continuous operation since 1912, and is the only operational bathhouse today.  Of course, you can take baths in the hot mineral waters at the Arlington Hotel, but this is a standalone bathhouse.  They still operate, under the auspices of the National Park Service, on the premise that hot mineral waters hold healing powers.  More likely, they are a pleasant experience, and the accompanying Swedish massages after a relaxing hot bath relaxes one and increases the feeling of well-being, which itself can have a positive effect on health through lowered stress levels.  However, it's not going to cure your arthritis.
