George C. Page Museum, La Brea Tar Pits
On the same grounds as the LA County Museum of Art are the famous La Brea Tar Pits.  This photos shows the George C. Page Museum, which contains many of the bones recovered from the pits.  It also supports ongoing research, and the vast majority of bones recovered (over 1 million to date) are stored here as well.  Many complete skeletons of mammoths and saber tooth tigers have been found, along with countless other species, both current and extinct, and one skeleton of a human.
