Pinnacles National Monument, California
Pinnacles National Monument is a couple of hours south of San Jose, about one hour inland from Monterey. This is the entrance on the west side of the park, near Soledad. The road in the park does not meet in the middle, so to see the east side of the park you either have to hike it or drive about 50 miles. It's a very nice area to hike.
